The Lumen ("angels") and Novae ("demons") appear to the humans left behind as normal people, unless the Lumen and Novae choose to reveal themselves. Their lifespan is 4 times as that of a human being, ie. 20 Lumen/Novae years = 80 human years.
Differences
Lumen and Novae can be differentiated by their wings, markings and their battle outfits they transform into; markings only appear once transformed. Each Lumen/Novae markings are different, as well as their weapons, which are created from a part of themselves.
Weapons
Each weapon is given a name by its owner; the names are Latin, pertaining to something of the weapon's power or aspect.
Society
The society of the Lumen is nonhierarchical, except for have one leader known as the Consul. He/she leads the rest of the Lumen against the Novae and determines who will take his/her place once it is time for him/her to leave. In all other aspects of life, the Lumen work together to make life harmonious and are all seen as equal amongst each other. The social aspects of the Novae are unknown, as no one knows where they dwell.
